Welcome to Glad of Africa Safaris and Tours! These terms and conditions govern the agreement between us Glad of Africa Safaris and Tours (the service providers) and you, our valued travelers, including all individuals listed in a booking. We strongly encourage you to review these terms carefully, as they form the foundation of our commitment to delivering exceptional travel experiences. By confirming your travel arrangements with Glad of Africa Safaris and Tours, you acknowledge that you have read, fully understood, and agreed to the terms and conditions outlined below.

1. Booking and Payment Policy

  • All services are subject to availability and are not guaranteed until confirmed.
  • A deposit of 15% (for camping) & 30% (for Mid-range) of the total value for each person referred to on the booking form is required at the time of booking. If a higher deposit is required for any particular tour, this will be indicated before confirmation.
  • The remaining balance will paid on arrival, before the start of the tour, unless otherwise indicated of which a certain percentage can be paid upon the start of the tour.
  • At the time of booking, we require full details for all passengers (names must be as they appear in passports).

2. Prices

  • All prices are quoted and paid in US Dollars unless otherwise stated.
  • Prices quoted by  Glad of Africa Safaris and Tours are subject to change without notice and are not guaranteed until the time of confirmation.
  • Prices quoted are as per itinerary and per person and unless stated otherwise, include the following:
      • Overnight accommodation as specified, national park and game reserve entrance fees, overland transportation, domestic air transportation where indicated, drivers and guides fees, three meals per day as specified, unlimited mineral water during safari (not at the lodges/camps), coffee/tea twice a day during safari, unlimited game drives.
  • At the time of booking, we require full details for all passengers (names must be as they appear in passports).

3. Descriptions And Service

  • All information and descriptions (including those regarding accommodation and activities) are based on the latest information available and are provided in good faith. Glad of Africa Safaris and Tours is not liable for any deviations from these descriptions.

  • Transport provided will vary depending on the itinerary and the number of clients. We strive to ensure that all vehicles used are well-maintained and in roadworthy condition. We also maintain contact with rescue services within all national parks to minimize delays in the event of a breakdown. However, Glad of Africa Safaris and Tours accepts no liability for mechanical issues, punctures, road conditions, or any delays or changes that may arise as a result.

  • We reserve the right to use the services of trusted subcontractors when necessary to ensure smooth operations.

     

    Please note that we do not guarantee sightings of specific wildlife, as all animals are wild and move freely within their natural habitats.

4. Cancellation & Refunds

Cancellation by You

If you decide to cancel your holiday, you must notify us as soon as possible. Any notification by telephone must also be confirmed in writing or by email within 24 hours. The cancellation will be effective from the date we are first notified, provided that written confirmation is received within 24 hours of the original notification.

Cancellation charges are based on the total tour price and will be applied as follows:

  • Cancellation received more than 60 days prior to the tour start date: Loss of 5% of deposit
  • Cancellation received less than 30 days prior to the tour start date: Loss of 15% of the total cost
  • Cancellation received less than 20 days prior to the tour start date: No refund for lodge safari
  • Cancellation received less than 10 days prior to the tour start date: No refund for budget safari

Cancellation by Glad of Africa Safaris and Tours

We reserve the right to cancel your booking and apply cancellation fees (as outlined above) if the balance due is not paid by the specified deadline.

Glad of Africa Safaris and Tours reserves the right to cancel your tour up to 60 days before the start date. After this period, we will not cancel your tour unless it is due to circumstances beyond our control. In such cases, we will offer you the choice of an alternative holiday (if available) or a full refund.

If we are required to cancel your holiday, we will offer you one of the following options:

  • Alternative arrangements of a similar nature, standard, and price (if available)
  • Alternative arrangements of a lower standard, with a refund of the price difference
  • Alternative arrangements of a higher standard, where you will pay the difference
  • A full refund

Glad of Africa Safaris and Tours accepts no liability for any loss or damage arising from cancellation.

5. Complaints

  • If you are unhappy with any service or facility provided, you must immediately inform your representative (guide, tour leader, or driver provided by Glad of Africa Safaris and Tours) and allow them the opportunity to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
  • If your representative has been informed and the matter is not resolved to your satisfaction, you may submit a formal complaint to Glad of Africa Safaris and Tours in writing. This must be done within 28 days after the completion of the tour.

We accept no liability for complaints that are not raised and notified in accordance with the procedure outlined above.

6. Alterations

Alterations by You

Should you wish to make alterations to a confirmed booking, we will do our best to accommodate your request, although it may not always be possible.


Alterations by Glad of Africa Safaris and Tours

Glad of Africa Safaris and Tours reserves the right to make alterations to confirmed bookings. While this is not common, it may occasionally be necessary. In such cases, we will always aim to ensure that any changes are of a similar or higher standard of service. Due to the nature of safari travel, arrangements and itineraries must remain flexible, and we will inform you as soon as reasonably possible of any changes.

In the case of significant alterations, you will be offered one of the following options:

  • Arrangements of a similar nature, standard, and price (if available)
  • Arrangements of a lower standard, with a refund of the price difference
  • More expensive arrangements, where you will be required to pay the difference
  • Cancellation with a full refund

Alterations by Third Parties

Glad of Africa Safaris and Tours has no direct control over third-party suppliers. Where a supplier makes significant changes, we will attempt to inform you as soon as possible; however, we accept no liability for such changes. In such cases, the terms outlined above will apply.


Changes Resulting from Unforeseen Circumstances

In the event of unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to road closures, adverse weather conditions, national park or hotel disruptions, security concerns, strikes, illness, war, quarantine, force majeure, political unrest, natural disasters, flight rescheduling or cancellations by airlines, or acts of God, it may be necessary to alter itineraries and services.

In such situations, you will be responsible for any additional costs incurred. Some costs may be recoverable through your travel insurance, depending on your policy terms.

However, Glad of Africa Safaris and Tours will always make every reasonable effort to find the most suitable and cost-effective alternative solution. We accept no liability for any costs, losses, or damages arising from such circumstances.

7. Liability

  • Glad of Africa Safaris and Tours accepts no responsibility for any illness, injury, death, loss, or damage of any nature to persons or property arising directly or indirectly from any aspect of your tour.
  • We make every effort to ensure that all tours, activities, and services are properly arranged and conducted as advertised. However, while we only work with reputable suppliers (such as hotels, lodges, airlines, and other service providers), we do not have direct control over their operations. Therefore, Glad of Africa Safaris and Tours cannot be held responsible for errors, omissions, or failures caused by such third parties.
  • Although we take all reasonable measures to maintain the highest levels of safety, travel and adventure activities inherently involve certain risks. Clients participate in all activities entirely at their own risk.
  • Glad of Africa Safaris and Tours accepts no liability for unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to flight delays or cancellations, detention, inconvenience, force majeure, war or threat of war, riots, civil disturbances, terrorist acts, border closures, acts of government or other authorities, strikes, theft, epidemics, road closures, industrial disputes, natural or nuclear disasters, extreme weather conditions, fire, or technical and/or mechanical problems affecting transport. However, in the event of a mechanical breakdown, we will endeavor to provide a rescue vehicle as soon as possible.
  • It is the responsibility of each client to ensure that they and their dependents hold valid passports, visas, travel permits, health certificates, and any other documentation required for travel.

8.Medical Travel Documents

  • You are responsible for ensuring that you meet all requirements relating to medical vaccinations and certificates, precautions against malaria, visas, international currency, and valid passports. Glad of Africa Safaris and Tours accepts no liability if such requirements have not been correctly arranged by you.
  • It is also your responsibility to report on time for all transport arrangements and to ensure that you carry all necessary travel tickets and documents. We cannot be held responsible for any additional costs incurred as a result of failure to comply with these requirements.
  • In the event that any passenger is refused entry by immigration or any other authority, all repatriation costs and related expenses shall be borne entirely by the passenger.
 
 

9. Tour Authority

  • The authority of the guide and/or driver will be final at all times. This is for your own safety and the well-being of your fellow travelers.
  • You must always comply with all local laws and regulations during the tour.
  • We reserve the right to refuse any person participation in the tour or to discontinue their participation if necessary. Neither Glad of Africa Safaris and Tours nor any service supplier shall be liable for any resulting expenses, and no refunds will be given.

This is a very rare occurrence and will only be applied where a participant’s behavior is deemed likely to cause danger, inconvenience, or hazard to the tour, other participants, or any third party.

10. Supplier’s Conditions

  • Suppliers have their own booking conditions, and you will be bound by those conditions insofar as they apply to the relevant supplier. Some of these conditions may limit or exclude the liability of the respective supplier.
