Itinerary Detail
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport, you’ll be warmly welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. Take the rest of the day to relax and recover from your journey. Depending on your arrival time, you may explore the city or enjoy optional activities. Dinner and overnight at your lodge/hotel in Arusha.
Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast in Arusha, you’ll drive to Tarangire National Park, approximately a 2–3 hour journey. Upon arrival, you’ll embark on a full-day game drive with picnic lunches inside the park. Tarangire is famous for its massive baobab trees, large herds of elephants, and its vibrant wildlife including giraffes, lions, leopards, and various bird species. In the evening, you’ll drive for about 30–45 minutes to your accommodation in Karatu or within the park for dinner and your overnight stay.
Day 3: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park
After an early breakfast, you’ll continue your journey to the Serengeti, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You’ll arrive in the Serengeti around lunchtime. After lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive across the park’s expansive plains. Serengeti National Park is Tanzania’s largest and most iconic park, home to diverse habitats—open grasslands, swamps, woodlands, and rocky outcrops—and famed for the Great Migration. Depending on the season, you might witness thousands of wildebeest and zebras in search of food and water. In the evening, transfer to your lodge or tented camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive in the Serengeti, giving you one last chance to spot the Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo—in their natural environment. Around midday, begin your journey toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, admire the changing landscapes and roaming wildlife. Upon arrival at the crater’s edge, you’ll enjoy stunning panoramic views of this natural wonder. Spend the night at a lodge perched on the rim of the crater, where you can watch the sunset cast a golden glow over the landscape.
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater – Game Drive – Return to Arusha
Early in the morning, after breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of Africa’s most breathtaking natural wonders. The crater, formed by a collapsed volcano, is about 610 meters deep and 260 square kilometers wide. Its rich ecosystem supports over 25,000 animals, including wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, hippos, elephants, and—with luck—the rare black rhino. You’ll also encounter a wide array of birds, from flamingos to raptors. After a picnic lunch inside the crater, ascend its steep walls and begin the drive back to Arusha for your final overnight stay.
Day 6: Departure
After breakfast, depending on your flight schedule, you’ll be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport for your departure. Alternatively, you can choose to extend your adventure with a relaxing beach holiday in Zanzibar.
